Attention Trainers! Welcome to the Tournament Sector! The best place in the world for your competitive needs! Here, we hold tournaments where trainers from across the world can compete for awesome prizes like rare Pokemon that aren't obtainable any other way. Let's get down to business.
Competitions are tournaments that are held here at the stadium once in a while. You can sign up for that tournament and see special details on it on the thread for that tournament, and anything below is not necessarily true about all of the tournaments, but generally the following is how they work.
All trainers that join are grouped into categories based on their experience in battles. They are as follows for tournaments with larger amounts of participants (over 8):
Junior cup lv.1 and lv.2, Middle cup lv.3 and lv.4, Senior cup lv.5 and lv.6
If the tournament has a lot less contestants, (Between 2 and 8) it will be shrunk down into the following:
All trainers are reverted to lv.6
These categories are used in the tournament so that we can pair you up with trainers of a similar difficulty to you. Sometimes you may need to change levels when entering a tournament. If you do, the Pokemon you bring will temporarily change health to the corresponding level, and you may choose to temporarily change your Pokemon's attacks accordingly as well. If you have any temporary changes added to your Pokemon due to level changes, please say so when signing up. Temporary changes will only have effect in tournament battles.
In order to reserve a spot in the tournament, you'll need to fill out the following form and post it on the correct tournament.
Trainer name, level, and experience:
Pokémon roster: (Pokémon, [nickname] gender: four attacks)
When sign-ups are closed, the tournament will begin on a separate thread in the tournaments section and random matchups are given out to decide who battles who. The trainer who is listed first in the match-up will get to be the trainer who moves first in the first round. They are 3 vs. 3 matches, and you do not earn exp. for winning these battles. Items, unless specifically given to you for the tournament, are not allowed in tournament battles. Prizes are shown on the tournament's rules form, and can be awarded to the sole winner of each section or runner ups.
Each battle in the stadium is unique because the scenery and environment changes every time, having special effects on attacks, so you'll need to think of new ways to compensate.
These are some ideas of the different environments that can be used. Each one is chosen randomly via the in game dice.
Marsh: muddy water is everywhere in this stage, slowing down Pokemon who get stuck in it. There is long grass and cat-tails sorrounding the mud. A unique part of this stage are the willow the wisps. Using one of these peculiar lights will increase your next fire attack by 20, but you might have to wade out into the mud to get to it.
Ocean: There is a small beach on one side of the stage, while the rest is ocean water that gets as deep as 10 feet. There is also an island in the middle of the stage for Pokemon who can't swim well.
Forest: Heavy amounts of trees can block your view here, as they are big and ancient looking, fairly tall and some pokemon can take the battle to the canopy if they can climb or fly. Be careful of logs or other vegetation that might get in your way.
Volcano pit: A heated location where embers are always flying out of crevices and the temperatures are high. Be careful of wild flames and don't get overheated.
Unique tournaments: There are often special tournaments that are being held that do not conform to the normal tournament rules. If there is, the rules will be specifically stated in their form.
