Ladies and gentlemen, I present to you... the Starter Pokémon tournament of 2013! Yes, that's right. In this tournament, trainers may only use starter Pokémon. Each battle will be a 1 on 1 battle, and all trainers will be fixed at level 1. Only starter Pokémon are allowed, but if your starter has evolved, that's ok too. Today all trainers will be battling in either the Forest, the Dock, or the Volcano to represent each of the different starter types, and these will be determined randomly.
1. Forest 2. Dock 3. Volcano
We will begin the tournament when we have at least 4 trainers involved.
Grand Prize: The grand prize for the winner of this tournament is a second starter Pokémon on their journey! How cool is that! The winner may choose from any in the list found in the Lab. The winner and the runner up will also receive a new Pokeball to help them catch more Pokémon on their journey.
Sign ups are now open!
Here are the line-ups:

Sign ups are now closed, and we managed to get four trainers involved. Yay!
Everyone is assigned a number based on the order in which they signed up, which is then put into the random matchups computer (Dice) to decide who will battle.
1. PinkyPink342 2. Quilavaflare 3. Lucario188 4. Stone
Our first matchup: T1: Stone vs. T2: Lucario 188
That means the second matchup will be with me and Pinky. RNG says: T1: PinkyPink321 vs. T2: Quilavaflare
Good luck to whoever gets the first matchup. And for refs, I'll be reffing the first one unless I'm in it, in which case Lucario can if that's ok with her. We'll discuss other reffings after the first match. Please don't comment during the battle if you aren't a part of it. Inbetween is ok. The match officially starts when the first trainer makes their first move.
EDIT: Aaargghh! I guess the dice really wasn't built for this kind of thing. Oh well, we will be using regular ol' RNG for this I guess.

Ok Gaia, let's do this! A little fire never hurt anyone, right?
Start this battle off with a Withdraw.

Going into hopefully what turns out to be an exciting battle, our first trainers are preparing themselves for the long, grueling match. Gaia starts off by using a Withdraw and pulling herself into her hardy shell, thus giving her a Defense upgrade. Withdraw: 4/5 left
The little Charmander, Flint, decides this won't make for a favorable match-up however, and goes for a frightening Growl, and brings Gaia's defense back to it's original state. Growl: 4/5 left
Flint awaits Lucario's next move...

Sorry for the wait. Time ta do da math.
Moving right along, Flint heats up and breathes some hot, glowing cinders at the opponent, which reach Gaia with stinging energy and big damage! Wincing, the Turtwig retaliates by blindly bashing into Flint with a Tackle attack, rolling the two of them over in a tussle and knocking the breath out of the Charmander. For the burn: 1-10 Looks like it's a no-can-do. Gaia will make the next move...
Flint: 50/100
Ember:4/5 Growl:4/5 Scratch:5/5 Leer:5/5
Gaia: 30/100
Tackle:4/5 Absorb:5/5 Withdraw:4/5 Razor Leaf:5/5
Already I'm starting to see plenty of things that could be changed with the battling system. Please check the announcements for more details!

I really must ask before this gets any worse: do you guys want to set up the changes and then use them, even if it means it happens mid battle? Or would you rather finish this up first?

I don't have a preference. I would say finish it up, but I don't mind at all if changes are made now.
